Florida Humanities and the Clewiston Museum will present Dr. Keri Watson in “Picturing Paradise: From John James Audubon to the Florida Highaymen.” This free presentation features an engaging history of Florida’s landscape painters, such as Titian Ramsay Peale and John James Audubon, who came in search of native flora and fauna. They were followed by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Martin Johnson Heade, George Inness, Winslow Homer, and Henry Ossawa Tanner, who were lured to Florida by its natural beauty and warm climate. The program will be preceded by the museum's annual meeting at 6:30 pm. In addition to the program and meeting, there will be a Florida Highwaymen art show!
